General CCW permit holders are not provided gunfighting training or techniques. The California CCW course requirements are not designed to provide these shooting skills. This course is designed to provide CCW holders with tactical techniques to ensure their confidence in the event of being involved in a gunfight. Tactics that are generally reserved for law enforcement officers will be demonstrated and taught.
Whether dealing with domestic, building, or outdoor scenarios, this course covers the essentials of tactical techniques, including moving and shooting, multiple targets, moving targets, using cover and concealment, combat and tactical reloading, clearing stoppages and malfunctions when under fire and most of all SURVIVAL.
CCW holders with Advanced Pistol Certification
This is an advanced level course. The student needs to know and be able to demonstrate safe gun handling, weapon system familiarity, fundamental marksmanship skills and demonstrate safely working from a holster. The student must be able to perform the physical requirements of this class.
Students failing to meet and maintain our safety requirements and/or who cannot meet and immediately demonstrate the minimum skills required for the specific class may be removed from training. Full-sized or Compact Pistol (no subcompact pistols allowed for this class) in one of the following calibers: .380, 9MM, .40S&W, or .45ACP (no other calibers allowed)
3 magazines minimum
Belt mounted, dominant side concealment holster
Magazine/ammunition pouches for two magazines or speed loaders
Sturdy Belt at least 1.5” wide
Concealment jacket or vest (optional)
Footwear suitable for rapid movement and turning
Casual, comfortable civilian clothing suitable for training (unless training in duty uniform)
Active noise reduction hearing protection preferred
Knee Pads (optional)
*non-toxic, non-jacketed FRANGIBLE ammunition may be required
Steel Jacket or reloaded ammo is not allowed
